SWSD Fear the Forest RECAP
Another great tournament weekend in the books! This year's Fear the Forest brought out some great competition and we had six of our teams participate across six different divisions, all of them reach the Gold Division championship games, and even had parents and players take part in a Punt, Pass, and Kick competition.
With only two teams in the division, our 6U team had a best of 3 series against the very talented Playmakers Ghost team and lost the first two games which ended the series. The 8U team received the #1 seed after pool play and an automatic bid in the championship game where they fell short to Team Impact. The 10U team was in the Gold Division championship game against a top-notch Tucson Turf team where we fell short, but had improvements from Day 1. We had another HBHF vs Team Impact game in the 11U Gold Division championship and lost a tough game to a great TI team.
Our 7U team went 2-1 in Pool Play on Saturday with their only loss being by 7 points to Playmakers Ghost which earned them the #2 seed in bracket play. In the semi-finals HBHF 7U faced the West Valley Spartans where they came out victorious and set up a re-match against Ghost in the championship game. In a competitive and intense game our HBHF 7U team was able to beat Ghost 20-14 and secure the teams first tournament championship and the third SWSD championship for the HBHF program.

The 9U team faced off with two great teams all weekend and were able to go 3-0 in Pool Play to earn the #1 seed and automatic bid in the Championship game. The team faced Team Monster in the championship and was down by one point with 1:20 remaining in the first half before they scored on the last play of the half to go into halftime up 14-7. The defense continued to play lights out in the second half while the offense added two more touchdowns to bring home the 27-7 victory and the SWSD Fear the Forest 9U Division Championship.

With their championship wins the 7U and 9U team have also earned half bids to the 2022 Hard Count National Championships in San Diego!
Keep working hard and HBHF!!!
